Journey
If there were ever a time to dare, To make a difference To embark on something worth doing It is now. Not for any grand cause, necessarily But for something that tugs at your heart Something that is worth your aspiration Something that is your dream. You owe it to yourself To make your days count. Have fun. Dig deep. Stretch. Dream Big. Know, though, That things worth doing Seldom come easy, There will be times when you want to Turn around Pack it up and call it quits Those times tell you That you are pushing yourself And that you are not afraid to learn by trying. Persist. Because with an idea, Determination and the right tools, You can do great things. Let your instincts, your intellect And let your heart guide you. Trust. Believe in the incredible power Of the human mind Of doing something that makes a difference Of working hard Of laughing and hoping Of lasting friends Of all the things that will cross your path Next year The start of something new Brings the hope of something great. Anything is possible There is only one you And you will pass this way but once. Do it right.

A Message by George Carlin

The paradox of our time in history is:

We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life not life to years. We’ve been all the w ay to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We’ve done larger things, but not better things.

That we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We’ve cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We’ve conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when the technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete…

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn’t cost a cent.

Remember, to say, “I love you” to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

My Story

Hi, I’m Julie Elder, and I started my website julieelder.com to share with others about what I like and what I want to learn from other’s. And to be more candid about it, it’s what everyone is doing in today’s Social Media online.

I’m suppose to be a little funny, and at times show some serious sides of my self, so you can get to know me. Do you think it’s important to tell you that I am a mother.. When ever I come across a questionnaire, and it wants to to know something about me, I always, always want to begin it with “I am a mother of four daughter’s”.. Like it should award me with a Nobel prize or something.. But the truth really is, it wasn’t all that easy raising them four daughter’s Love em to death but it was a challenge. And all I can say is that I’m so glad that I made it through that part of my journey… Just for fun, here are a few of the things I’d rather try to forget about….

* Hair * Trends * Clothes ~ popular clothes name brand.. Guess was a big one, oh and Gap

* Boys * Friends * Heartaches * Girl issues * Money * Dates ~~~ this list could go on and on.. And just to think, I was trying to hold down a full time job!! What was I thinking….

Now that I have made it half way into my life, My daughter’s are grown, with families of their own, and some have decided to take my experience, and bag the whole family thing… Just living in there own world… Can’t blame them there.. So I decided about 4 years ago, that I wanted to find out what I liked, what I wanted to do, what else could I possibly learn from the book of life.. Well I jumped in head first into my first network marketing company.. Thinking that I would enjoy learning how the online social media really works, and make some fast residual income, I was going to strike gold, one way or another. I was never going to work and support another company for someone else ever again.. And then came along the joy I was experiencing learning how to use photoshop.. Now this was fun.. And so then my desire to learn how to build a website.. Yes I said a website. I was starting to feel pretty powerful, and it didn’t help to have my father encourage me every day, how proud he was of me, and man you really made that. well I became a child again, just never could get enough of that praise from him.. It became an addiction.. And I was learning. I really was quit proud of myself.. Tired of hearing people complain every day to me on the phone for over 20 years of my life.. Well this was like a breath of fresh air for me.. Lovin every min of it.. So here I am in today’s world.. I love to network and market and design. It has become something that I love to do..I have meet some incredible people over this past year, and I have learned so much, from so many of you. I am looking forward to this new year with great anticipation of creating some thing superior in my life. This next year 2010 I am eagerly looking forward to meeting a lot of my new friends, and just sit awhile with you, and enjoy the moment… My wish to everyone a very prosperous new year in 2010.. Best Regards Julie
