The Wisdom of Sharing
Develop the habit of working for something.
Turning your life around can be exciting and joyful. New ideas will appear, and you will try new ways of acting, talking and thinking. Nevertheless, old ideas and friends which don’t fit anymore might create confusion and doubts. Be patient – start by learning the rules of your new path.

Being spiritual brings with it exciting times. Start by looking at life in a positive light. See the blessing you have in your life, and imagine those which are awaiting you. Because your thoughts attract energy, just by focusing on the positive, you will bring new and positive things into your life. In the same manner, a person looking at the glass as half empty, manifests for himself less than what his potential allows. Some changes happen quickly, others take longer to materialized, so don’t give up when not all of your problems are solved immediately. On the contrary; develop endurance, compassion, and positive attitude; those are the weapons of choice for spiritual people.
Develop the habit of working for something, not against something, and you will be a happier person. Working against things which are wrong in your life is like rowing against the current. By paying attention to that, which is positive in your life, you attract more of the same to yourself. By amplifying things such as positive attitude, patience, forgiveness, and love of yourself and others, you create a new reality for yourself. After all, you dwell where your thoughts are.
Is it possible for only person to make a significant impact? In a world of nearly seven billion people, what effect can one individual have on so many lives? Whenever I ask myself these questions or wonder about the influence one person can have, I think of Mother Teresa.
Many, when they here the name “Mother Teresa”, think of the wonderful organization she founded, the Missionary of Charity, and the many thousands of individuals that received help from it. It is important to remember how all of that began. It began with one woman, as she walked untold miles looking for food and a home with no money of her own. It began with one woman, who despite the challenges she faced, did not waiver in her deep love for people. It began with one woman and her decision to follow her heart and her faith.
Your Power To Change! One can look back at history and see many examples of individuals who made a huge impact on the world. Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arc, Anne Frank, Albert Einstein, Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Helen Keller, and the list goes on and on. It may be tempting to think that these famous individuals were “special” in some way which contributed to their being so influential. I agree. Here’s the thing though. YOU are also special, in some way, and can influence people like no other person can. The power of one can be great and is possible because of the power of influence!
The Power Grows!
It is important to realize that the reason influence is powerful is because it is exponential. Each time you impact a person’s life, you also impact that person’s circle of influence. Each person in that person’s circle of influence has their own circle of influence, and each person in those circles of influence also have their own….well, you get the idea. Here’s a familiar example of the power of exponential growth:
If you were asked to work for thirty days with a starting salary of just one penny, but with the understanding that your wage would be doubled every day of that month, would you take that job? If you’re a smart cookie you would because on day thirty you’d receive $5,368,709.12!!
Happy collision of chaos.
Always a part of my Ahhha moments….
Let me tell you a little something about myself.
For some reason, I have eyes that want to see everything in fairy-tale vision.
I imagine that my house should be tidy and beautiful all the time. It should be super cute and styled just right for that imaginary magazine cover in my mind. I have a disease I mention from time to time called magazine cover-it is. But in spite of that terrible sickness, my life rarely looks like the cover of a decorating magazine. Corners of it might appear that way sometimes, until you turn around and see what was behind the camera.
Most of the time, my home is a happy collision of chaos.
While my mind might picture a perfectly coordinated and styled magazine cover life, my real life reflects more of what I’d call “the lived in look.”
Whether it is the unexpected emergencies that throw our life for a loop or the chaotic beauty we invite in to turn our house upside down, our home usually feels slightly bent, occasionally stained, somewhat disorganized — yet we are blessed by all the chaos … life, friends, family, connections and living our God-given dreams. The chaos means we are living a full and meaningful life.
Embracing of our real life is where true beauty is found.
Tell me about your real life.
Can you see the beauty and blessings in your “lived in” look?
