Words of Wisdom

wis·dom: the quality or state of being wise
Finding Wisdom in the age of reason..

————————————————–

I used to live my life avoiding it at all costs… I used to blame others for my heart ache and disappointments….I was never perfect, even as though I liked to portray I was…. I woke up from my slumber not too long ago , and realized what living was… To truly understand what thankfulness was about and how to find thanks in every moment of my path… I can say that I have walked in Gods grace and lived my life for him and his glory… Each moment of challenge I searched for answers I needed to find the lesson I was being directed into… I used to think I knew everything and could take on the world…. I took that mindset and exchanged it for the lords hand… I had to know all the answers all the what if’s and how …. I had to feel comfortable, analyzing everything…. When I walked in the path it was my job to give all my what if’s to God and rely on his word…. I found out quickly what ” He knows best”…. Means… I don’t know most of the answers and I know I might make decisions he would not agree upon… I am not perfect and my life is full of imperfect faculties… I know that I will bring disappointment to some in my life, I will surely disappoint my self…. But I am real, I fall down, I scrape my knees, I have tears of unknown, I get scared, I will be unsure of my choices, I might have failures in my journey, I will lose my way, but My LOVE FOR GOD WILL NEVER CHANGE! I will always look up to THE MEN IN MY LIFE and always give thanks …. I will be sorry before I ever fail, I will be thankful before I ever receive… I will never be unloved and I pray they know my heart and my reasoning and that we all have different kinds of heart ache…. I pray my Lord will always go with me and that when I feel I no longer can go on… He will help me find my inner courage and to persevere in my roughest challenges…. Yesterday I was alone , today I am saved, and tomorrow I will follow…

People aren’t born into this world with courage, however we are all born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest. It takes courage to have …all these things and it takes courage to believe in yourself…Make courage your best friend, and your heart will open up and you can do anything that you dream doing…LET YOUR SPIRIT SOAR!

I am sky gazing into the first full moon of 2012. I was making a mental list of all the things I have to be grateful for and all the things I feel like I am suffering and struggling with in my life. Suddenly out of nowhere, came a large puffy cloud that covered the full moon I was enjoying, with total darkness. Yet out beyond the dark edges, was a bright, white light, outlining the mysterious shape. The darkness seemed to increase the glowing of the stars, which I could now see so much clearer. I felt like the universe was telling me, that when it looks like my skies have become dark and cloudy, the light is just on the other side, waiting to shine on me, when the challenging circumstances pass. That there is a silver lining of opportunity, to now see other things in a grateful and brighter light. My job is to focus on love and the good things in my life, so the bad things don’t block out the light for too long. There are so many things to be grateful for, that we don’t even see… until the light changes! ~

Today, learn from the children, as they experience the world: With wonder and awe, a sense they can do anything and become anything, the world is theirs only by asking and BELIEVING! They laugh, they hug, they cry, they ask “why not”, they try, they are uninhibited!

An elderly Chinese Woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water, at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”

The old woman smiled “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I have always known about your flaw so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path and every day while we walk back you water them.

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. With ought you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house”.

Each of us has our own unique flaws. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

‎”Find your strength in life, there is no such word as weak. You have a beautiful heart, a loving soul, and you are strong. You have control of your life; make your life the most beautiful dream. You have a voice and your voice is to be heard, you have a mind and your thoughts are to be shared, you have a soul and you shine a rainbow of life with the beauty of your love. Your strength reflects the beauty of your heart; your heart is the truth of your soul, you will always be loved for your beauty within, be yourself and nobody else, love truthfully, love unconditionally.”

Encourage and approve of yourself just the way you are;
Release the unrealistic expectations of perfection;
Who you are and what you are doing IS GOOD ENOUGH!!!
Improving ourselves in certain areas is a healthy way of living;
Expecting to “always get it right”, well that is somewhere under the definition of “Insanity”, I am quite sure; or at least it is in my dictionary….Wendy Box

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble, and woe,
It’s then I have to remember,
That it’s in the valleys I grow

… If I always stayed on the mountain top,
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God’s love,
And would be living in vain

I have so much to learn,
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it’s in the valleys I grow

I do not always understand,
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing,
My Lord will see me through

My little valleys are nothing,
When I picture Christ on the cross,
He went through the valley of death,
His victory was Satan’s loss

Forgive me Lord, for complaining,
When I’m feeling very low,
Just give me a gentle reminder,
That it’s in the valley I grow

Continue to strengthen me Lord,
And use my life each day,
To share your love with others,
And help them find their way

Thank you for the valleys Lord,
For this one thing I know,
The mountain tops are glorious,
But it’s in the valleys I grow!

God will teach you many things and make you greater than you had ever imagined. You must do only one thing, take his hand and trust him.

The people we allow in close to our heart have the opportunity to build us up or tear down what they find. It is not their house, so generally there is a lack or sanctity and respect. As we become accustom to the de-sanctification of our soul-houses we allow more and more abruptness, destruction, and vandalism to occur…. Until one day we look around and find we are surrounded by filth, and dirt and grimy ick. We have allowed other people and things to come into the most sacred places in our heart and punch holes in our walls, and pee on our carpets, and break out our windows leaving behind what feels like an irrepairable amount of damage.

When we find ourselves in this condition… when we can recognize what has happened to our once beautiful soul, we have the option to continue to live in the mess as it is, or to shut down, lock up and begin renovation…

Stand On The Rock…

Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. donkey
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly..
Then, to everyone’s amazement he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up
over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.
The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up!
Shake it off and take a step up.

Reason, Season and Lifetime…
People always come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do…
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you …have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
or to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be….
Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end….
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they just walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on….
When people come into your life for a SEASON,
it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall,
the season eventually ends….
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway);
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being part of my life.

If today was it, would you die knowing you did your best? ♥
If tomorrow never came, would you be proud of the last thing you said to each person you love? If “someday” was only “now”, would you do everything you’ve always put off?♥

If you knew you had a choice about what kind of life you could be living, would you choose different? If you knew failure is impossible, what would you do? ♥

If it were true that everyone you meet is you in another body, how would you treat them? ♥
If love was the true currency of the Uni-verse and the more you gave away the more you received, how would you spend it? ♥

If fear were the biggest illusion and the greatest lie of all time, how would you choose to live your life? If the Universe always supported a life lived towards achieving dreams, how big would you dream? ♥ jackson kiddard

“Contain your experience with the divine so that it does not escape you but rather shapes you. Be silent.
Silence will help you avoid engaging in the games of competition and illusion
that regularly seduce us in the outside world.
Silence also helps you avoid distraction. It helps focus the busy mind – the mind that always has to …be doing something, thinking something, the mind that always has to be otherwise engaged lest it become introspective and allow the soul’s voice to override its own.
The silence I am describing is a silence that you use to contain the grace you receive when you enter the Castle of your Soul.
This quality of silence allows you to engage in discernment.
You carry this silence within you, even when you are with others.
It allows you to hold your center amid the chaos of your life; it keeps you clear so that you do not do or say things you will regret or make decisions out of fear.”
- Caroline Myss

Be Creative

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He …then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?” The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.” “I wrote: “Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.” Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective? Moral of the Story: Be THANKFUL for what you have. Be CREATIVE. Be INNOVATIVE. Think differently and positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 100 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear. The most beautiful thing is to see a person SMILING. ;) ) And even more beautiful, is knowing that you are the reason behind it!!! – Donna Perez Brinas

if God brought you to it, he will bring you through it♥

Whoever undertakes to set himself up as judge in the field of truth and knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods. –Albert Einstein

When the idea isn’t right, God says NO. When the time isn’t right, God says SLOW. When you’re not right, God says GROW. When everything is right, God says GO!!!

A mountain looks very large when you are near it. Very tiny from far away! Invisible if you move further out! The mountain remains as it is, but our view changes. The same is with problems!!! May the God of Hope fill us with all joy and peace as we trust in Him.

So how does wisdom differ from knowledge and why have so many creative and successful people warned us away from living a life too rational? If the world we live in isn’t simply a series of dominoes falling in nice neat predictable patterns of cause-and-effect, then how should we look at it and what does real-world wisdom look like?

Is it simply the ability to make the right decisions? Or is it something deeper, having to do with longings and purposes more difficult to define? How can we tell if we have made a truly wise move or one that was merely smart?

I offer up these three ideas as a way of getting the discussion going. I’m hoping you’ll jump in with ideas and recommendations of your own–

1. Respond to circumstances without preconceptions. It isn’t important to get into an intellectual argument about whether this is possible in some absolute sense. What is important is to take it to heart and do our best to enter each moment with fresh eyes and an open mind. When we stop knowing what is right and wrong before we even encounter the moment, we have the chance to see things as they really are and act in ways that are more beneficial to the whole.

2. Focus on how you treat others, not on how they treat you. It’s easy to use the intellect to keep score of times when others offend or wrong us, thus justifying our own ill will toward them. Yet their actions are entirely beyond our control–there is nothing we can do to make others treat us the way we want. How they act is their problem. All that we can control is how we treat others. With consistency, however, our actions prove to be the real key to influencing others and establishing mutually-beneficial long-lasting relationships.

3. Be playful instead of critical. The intellect is constantly on the lookout for what is wrong with this picture. This tendency to watch for what is absent or wrong simply amounts to others doing things their way instead of ours. Pay attention to what you are paying attention to–don’t trivialize life by attending to meaningless details. Being critical wastes energy and harms relationships. Make a game of things. The person slowing you down or pushing you to go faster may be saving your life by moving you out of harm’s way. Enjoy the eccentricities of others. Try them out for yourself. Waste time. Engage in purposeless activities. Wisdom enjoys life and cares that others enjoy life, too.
What is wisdom? How do you balance it with intellect? How do you act wisely? I ask that you contribute to this discussion with your own ideas and recommendations.

As I got
myself centered a realization came to me. I had forgotten whose world I
was living in. I live in God’s world. haha So everything is in perfect
order. It is man’s world that is out of alignment. I had to re-align
myself with truth. ♥ “Shared by a friend.”

Aaron Creed ~All our young lives we search for someone to love. Someone who makes us complete. We choose partners and change partners. We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope. All the while wondering if somewhere, somehow, there’s someone perfect who might be searching for us… I also say we can stay single and be happy so don’t look to hard for love! It will find you no matter what.

JOY in one’s heart and some laughter on one’s lips is a sign that the

Courage is the most important of all the virtues,
because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue
consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing
consistently without courage.

I want to appreciate the times when moments are made into memories. I want to embrace them, cherish them, and never forget that they come so few and so far between. I know that wherever life takes me, these moments will always follow. They remind me of what’s truly important. It’s not just life but living. It’s the journey, the destination, and all the points I see between… and I must admit I like what I see.

Build Your Dream…

INSTALLING LOVE…

Tech Support: Yes,… how can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install Love. Can you guide me though the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart, ma’am?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running, ma’am?

Customer: Let’s see, I have Past/Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past/Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of it’s own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off, ma’am?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, “Error – program not run on external components.” What should I do?

Tech Support: Don’t worry, ma’am. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it ! simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Can you pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the “My Heart” directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey!!! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: I promise to do just that. By the way, what’s your name?

Tech Support: Just call me the Divine Cardiologist, also known as the Great Physician, or just “I AM.” Most people feel all they need is an annual checkup to stay heart-healthy; but, the manufacturer (ME) suggests a daily maintenance schedule for maximum Love efficiency.

I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life’s greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.

TRY-TRUTH-TRUST.
Try: for better Future, Truth: with your Work, Trust: in God.

Did you know that you are only as free as you imagine yourself to be. There is nothing ”out there” that’s holding you down, – you are limiting yourself only with your own imagination. And your greatest limits are not even the ”cannot” and the ”should not”, but the places where your imagination hasn’t yet gone at all. I’m practicing on developing my own. Its hard in the beginning, but now today, it’s getting easier to DREAM…
